MEETING MINUTES…WHITEHALL BOARD OF EDUCATION…October 21, 2019

The October 21, 2019 meeting of the Whitehall Board of Education was held at Whitehall Elementary Balcony. President, George Everson called the meeting to order at

6:01 p.m. Roll was called, and a quorum established. Other Board members present: Jason Molis, Byron Fields, Dan Koxlien, Leah Johnson and Julie Dokkestul. Absent: Kristin Carroll. Others present: Superintendent, Mike Beighley; HS Principal, Eric Young, Elementary Principal, Damon Lisowski; MS Principal/Improvement of Instruction Director, Beth Lisowski; Finance Manager, Vicki Hagberg, Retired Finance Manager, Cheryl Maug; HS Teacher, Gary Giese; Reporter, Abby Sacia.

Molis moved to approve vouchers as presented. Fields seconded. Aye – All members. Motion carried. Johnson moved to approve the following items of the Motion Calendar:

  1. Approve minutes of September 23rd, 2019 Regular Meeting
  2. Approve minutes of September 23rd, 2019 Executive Meeting
  3. Approve minutes of October 2nd, 2019 Policy Book Review Meeting
  4. Approve volunteer contracts
  5. Approve extracurricular contracts
  6. Approve 66:0301 contract for LMC Director with ACHM Fields seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion

Fields moved to approve editorial changes to policy 343.42 – Youth Option Program – 2nd reading. Molis seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Johnson moved to approve Updated Elementary Safety Plan for 2019-20. Dokkestul seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Koxlien moved to approve the new High School/Middle School Safety Plan for 2019-20. Molis seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Johnson moved to approve Resolution Authorizing Taxable Tax and Revenue Anticipation Promissory Note for Cash-Flow Purposes in an Amount Not to Exceed $1,500,000. Dokkestul seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Molis moved to Certify 2019-20 school year Tax Levy’s: General Operations $2,052,462; Non-Referendum Debt Fund 38 $111,633; Referendum Approved Debt Fund 39 $935,700; Prior Year Levy Chargeback for Uncollectible Taxes $205 for a total Tax Levy of $3,100,000. Koxlien seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Koxlien moved to approve Resolution Authorizing Temporary Borrowing in Amount Not to Exceed $1,650,000 Pursuant to Section 67.12(8)(a)1, Wis. Statutes. Dokkestul seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.

Meeting recessed to Executive Session pursuant to Wis. Statute 19.85 1 © to discuss Maug Cleaning Contract. No action taken.
