Whitehall School District’s Library Media Director, Meghan Oppelt, has come up with a creative way to bring makerspaces into the MSHS LMC. A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring, working on projects,
networking, and building.
Our makerspace station starts with a workbench crafted by Mr. Drew Anderson’s Norse Manufacturing students. From there the focus will be on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities to give students experiences in areas such as robotics and computer science. Currently we have Makey Makey electronic kits, Ozobot robots, and with the help of several generous donations though donorschoose.org donors, we have added five Raspberry Pi computers.
Thank you to all of you that have helped make this possible for our students!
