MEETING MINUTES…WHITEHALL BOARD OF EDUCATION…June 22, 2015
The June 22, 2015 meeting of the Whitehall Board of Education was held at Whitehall Memorial Conference Room. David Skoyen called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Roll was called and a quorum established. Other Board members present: George Everson, Byron Fields, Leah Johnson (6:32 pm), Julie Dokkestul and Jason Molis. Absent: Kristen Carroll. Others present: Superintendent/6-12 Principal, Mike Beighley; Finance Manager, Cheryl Maug; Reporter, Scott Schultz.
Everson moved to approve vouchers as presented. Fields seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Everson moved to approve the following items of the Motion Calendar:
A. Approve minutes of May 18, 2015 Regular Meeting
- Approve minutes of May 18, 2015 Executive Session
- Approve minutes of June 8, 2015 Expulsion Hearing
- Approve minutes of June 8, 2015 Expulsion Hearing Executive Session
- Approve new Teacher Contracts for 2015-16:
– Mallory Mau, Courtney Wadzinski, Shannon Beighley (from CESA contract)
- Approve Summer School Contracts (see list)
- Approve Extra-Curricular Contract – School Census Taker, Joanne Foss
- Approve teacher resignation – Pamela Hansen
Molis seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Item 7.A. Presentation by Johnson Controls postponed until the July meeting.
Everson moved to approve the preliminary Fund 10 Expenditure Budget for 2015-16. Dokkestul seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Molis moved to approve Health/Dental plan renewals for 2015-16. Fields seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Dokkestul moved approve 600 Series Board Policies (1st Reading). Johnson seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Beighley reported that Ashley Furniture will be using the building during the week of July 13-17th for training. There will be about 650 of their sales people here and they will be bringing in their own caterer. Tony Robbins is scheduled to speak on Wednesday (15th) morning and Ashley has provided 10 seats for the Board and Administration to attend.

Skoyen recessed to Executive session pursuant to S.S. 19.85 (1) (c) to discuss Administrative and Quasi-Administrative Contracts for 2015-16. Time: 6:54 pm.
Reconvene to open session at 7:49 pm.
Johnson moved to approve Administrative and Quasi-Administrative Contracts for 2015-16. Fields seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
Fields moved to adjourn. Johnson seconded. Aye – All Members. Motion carried.
